About us

Basically we’re just your typical bunch of mates that all met at various stages of University. We like fun, shenanigans, mischief, the occasional bit of mayhem, but most importantly, seeing what different parts of the world has to offer.

For the whole rally to Mongolia there are 6 of us, ginger Charlie, little baby Travis, narrow Xeina, pooy Alistair, Amanda and Alex. We’ll all be writing bits and pieces as we rumble along so by reading and watching our videos you’ll get to know us eventually. There will also be a couple of others tagging along on bits of the journey. Keep an eye out for Andrew, a Mongol rally veteran, and Jubz, sweet little chap who likes seeing the world. And maybe even others, who knows. Maybe even you?

Charlie

Kind of the team captain of this whole shindig. He’s well travelled and has an adventurous side, likes his beer, enjoys a spot of skiing now and then, but LOVES mischief. He’s also punching WELL above his weight with lovely lucy (the misses), but he’s still a really nice laid back chap, guess Lucy could do worse. Thankfully for us Charlie’s a pretty good driver and an expert when it comes to personalising a car with all sorts of decoration. Over all a fun filled person to be sharing a 20 000 mile journey with!

Alex

A friendly soul who is eager to scratch a few countries off his wall map! He loves a beer and a sticky night, he likes conquering hills on the bike saddle, he’s the coolest geek you’ll ever meet but the BEST thing about Alex is he’s an expert spooner so we’ll all be contesting over who shares a tent with him. Overall, Alex is a boisterous boy who is super friendly, plus a good driver so can’t wait to spend 3 months on the road with him!

Travis

Very much the runt of the litter, we found little baby Travis helpless in Prague last summer. We took him under our wings and showed him the ways of the world. Travis is the youngest of the group (including the cars) but what he lacks in experience he more than makes up for in size, well parts of him anyway. Travis is a media studies student at Sheffield Hallam so although he might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, we have high hopes for his video making skills. He is also the only official southerner of the group but don’t hold it against him, he tries.

Xeina

As you can see shes another little one, but makes up for it with a big personality and by being as loud as she is. The token Brummy of the bunch she lived up in Lancaster for a bit, now down in Brighton she studies politics and stuff at Sussex uni. Be careful not to get into a political conversation with her as she’ll talk your ear off for hours on end, even at predrinks. That being said little Xeinie really is a bundle of energy, very kind and tonnes of fun packed into such a small package. As it stands now she’s yet to pass her driving test but she’s working on it. Yes this means her maiden voyage, in her FREE car, is going to be the Mongol rally!

Alistair

Posh boy Alistair loves his sports – when he’s not running, cycling, swimming or playing squash you can find him in the Physics department at Lancaster uni. He speaks his mind which is not always a good thing but at least you know he’s honest, which is comforting when you’re calming down the stranger who has just been informed of having a narrow head. He’s also a bit of a boy racer so he’ll be right at home on the rally…let’s just hope he doesn’t get us in too much trouble! He also poos himself a lot.
